The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Grafton and Sullivan Counties at DHMC is a child-friendly place where trained forensic interviewers talk to suspected victims of child abuse.
It's a place where Child Protective Services social workers, police investigators, mental health professionals, victim advocates, prosecutors, and medical providers plan and coordinate services and interventions for children where there are concerns for abuse. It is a place where young victims of sexual abuse can talk about their abuse without further traumatization by the system.
This comprehensive approach, with follow-up services coordinated by the CAC, ensures that children receive the appropriate services in a child-friendly environment, one in which the child's needs come first!
The CAC provides services to children and families within the two counties, who may have been impacted by sexual abuse, physical abuse, or where violence was witnessed. CACs receives referrals from either law enforcement or Child Protective Services.
All CAC appointments must be scheduled by calling (603) 653-9012.
