Child Development

The Interdisciplinary Child Development Program at CHaD (IDCP) provides diagnostic evaluations for young children with developmental and behavioral concerns.

Pediatric specialists observe, test, and counsel families regarding the developmental/behavioral status of their child after extensive review of early intervention/school reports, family questionnaires, and examination of the child.

In addition the staff advises, coordinates, and educates families, primary care providers, educators, and therapists about the diagnoses and management of children and youth within their community setting. The family receives a comprehensive care plan which may include medical, developmental, educational, and/or psychological evaluations with specific suggestions on how to implement the care plan.

A close collaboration between parents, professionals, and educators is maintained. The primary care provider (PCP) has access to a 'one-referral' entry point. Following consultation, the PCP receives clear recommendations and continued support to strengthen the medical home for the family.
