Tests
Some of the tests we perform to diagnose and monitor diabetes include:
- Urinalysis or blood tests, to monitor blood sugar and evaluate the health of your kidneys
- Cholesterol blood testing
- Vision testing for those with diabetic retinopathy
- Blood pressure test
Treatments
There is no cure for diabetes, but it can be managed. Depending on the type of diabetes you have, you and your doctor will come up with a plan that works for you. This treatment may include:
- Self-testing of blood glucose levels
- A sensible exercise plan
- Good nutrition
- Insulin use or other medication
- Regular checkups
