Genetic Counseling Clinic

Patients with a known genetic condition or a family history of a known genetic condition who have questions about genetic testing and inheritance can be evaluated in our genetic counseling clinic. Patients will meet with a licensed genetic counselor to review the medical and family histories, genetic testing options and the inheritance implications for family members.

Examples of indications for the Genetic Counseling Clinic include a personal or family history of a genetic condition such as:

  • Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency
  • Autism
  • Cardiac disorders including arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies
  • Chromosome condition
  • Coagulation disorders
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Deafness in Infancy and Childhood
  • Hemochromatosis
  • Huntington's disease
  • Inherited ataxias
  • Muscular dystrophy
  • Rare Genetic Disorders
  • Sickle cell disease
