Message from the Chief Resident
Welcome to our Pediatric Residency Program website. I am so happy to share with you why I absolutely love our program and the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth!
My first experience at CHaD was in 2014 when I had the opportunity to do away rotations here in nephrology as well as the newborn nursery. I fell in love with the area and was blown away by how approachable, knowledgeable and compassionate the attendings and residents were. Those rotations solidified CHaD as my number one residency pick.
Since starting my intern year in 2015, these feelings have only grown. The small size of our program has allowed me to be “selfish” with my learning, tailoring individualized electives to my interests while still receiving an excellent general pediatric foundation. Given our large catchment area, I have had the opportunity to take care of everything from patients with the common cold to critically ill patients and rare diseases with a multitude of variation in between. I have found incredible mentors who have helped me focus my scholarly activity, and my co-residents have been amazing supports and friends along the way.
Becoming chief resident has given me the privilege of continuing to work with such an incredible group of residents and attendings. I am so excited to get to enjoy the Upper Valley for another year; spending time outdoors with my husband, son and friends is so easy to do up here, no matter the season!
If you have more questions about what life is like here as a resident, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your interest in CHaD!
