Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry provides consultation and treatment for children and teenagers. We help children with developmental, emotional, and mental disorders.

Conditions we commonly treat include:

  • ADHD and disruptive or aggressive behaviors
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Autism Spectrum and developmental disorders
  • Co-occurring substance abuse and psychiatric disorders
  • Depression and other mood disorders
  • Family conflict
  • PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • Tourette Syndrome and Tic disorders

About us

We are a multi-disciplinary team with expertise in:

  • Child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Child clinical psychology and neuropsychology
  • Clinical mental health care
  • Developmental and behavioral pediatrics

Our program includes trainees in general psychiatry and advanced child psychiatry. We also have interns and post-doctoral candidates in child psychology. Through clinical care and research, we help develop and apply new treatments that are safe and effective.

When appropriate, our assessments use:

  • Formal neuro-psychological testing
  • State of the art multiple-informant diagnostic instruments
  • Structured diagnostic interviews
