At the 16th annual "Shield Our Children from Harm" conference, held April 11 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), four special individuals were recognized for their work in dealing with child abuse issues. The conference is a shared effort between the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD), the Child Advocacy Center of Grafton and Sullivan Counties at DHMC, and The Family Place Child Advocacy Centers of Windsor County. Each year the Child Advocacy Centers honor four individual UnSung Heroes. This UnSung Hero award goes to professionals in their communities who go above and beyond the call of duty each and every day to ensure the safety and well being of our region’s children. This year’s recipients were:
- Jeremy Coylewright, Family Violence Prevention Specialist – WISE, Lebanon (NH)
- Nicolas Richard – Division for Children, Youth, and Families – Claremont (NH) District Office
- Meghan Place, Victim Witness Advocate – Windsor (VT) County State’s Attorney’s Office
- Samantha Frank – Department of Children and Families – Springfield (VT) District Office
The Unsung Heroes were nominated by members of their respective Child Advocacy Centers, which provide services to children and families who may have been impacted by abuse and violence.
