Visiting Us

Visiting us during COVID-19

To keep you and your family safe, healthy, and well cared for during this uncertain time, we’ve made some changes to our visitor policy. For more information, please see the Information about COVID-19 page.

We practice patient- and family-centered care and believe family members are not visitors. They are welcome at any time. For more information about visiting, please see the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center visiting policy.

Immunization screening

At the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, family members and visitors may be screened for immunization status due to the clinical needs of our patients.

For more information about our immunization policy and preventing infection when visiting us, please see the Speaking Up: Taking an Active Role in Your Health Care page.

Our spaces

We provide many spaces where patients and families can get care and spend time together:

  • The Outpatient Center provides pediatric exam rooms and a fun, comforting atmosphere for children. The Outpatient Center brings together virtually all of our medical and surgical services in one location, offering convenient access to comprehensive care for children and families.
  • We provide many spaces for children and families to relax and play. These include spaces for a range of activities, including board games, movies, arts and crafts, and indoor and outdoor walking paths.
  • For families of children staying at the hospital, there are a number of options of places to stay at or near Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
